Operations & Delivery

  • Drive the commercialization process from RTB package receipt through to the start of bulk/mass production
  • Work closely with factory team on each project to ensure timely execution of the commercialization process to ensure on-time bulk/mass production and rapid production ramp-up
  • Drive tech trials 2, 3, and 4 as well as associated meetings to ensure product is properly engineered for fit/wear, functionality, quality consistency, and production efficiency
  • Conduct problem-solving of any issues found during fit/wear test in commercialization stages to ensure product offerings will successfully reach bulk/mass production
  • Conduct commercialization project planning to ensure ability to keep critical timelines and cost/margin targets with expected quality standards for the products
  • Review and ensure 1) confirmation of finalized cutting manipulations (especially on special materials/leathers) with suppliers, factory, costing, development, and production teams and 2) raising of any issues to be re-confirmed through Development/USPD
  • Conduct review and confirmation of bottom production blueprints/molds in accordance with confirmed development molds and agreed or advised revisions as well as accepted
  • Conduct the review of manufacturing SOPs and COVAs for projects to ensure they are ready to bulk/mass production
  • Support (on an "as needed" basis) the calculation the number of production molds to be opened for production
  • Support (on an "as needed" basis) the confirmation of mold cycle times conducted during Tech trials
  • Conduct the confirmation of packaging dimensions, label completeness
  • Through leadership and experience provide guidance for alternatives in constructions, materials, costing, duties, etc.
  • Ensure understanding of pre-tech 2 commercialization steps
  • Travel to factories and component facilities frequently to lead, supervise, and drive commercialization process activities

Collaboration & Team Building

  • Support input into and execution of Proto, GTM1, GTM2, Sales and production confirmation samples to ensure a smooth transition from development to commercialization
  • Support problem-solving of design tech packages on receipt for potential construction, material, fit & wear or cost concerns.
  • Actively participate in product tear-downs of samples or competitor product to evaluate construction, comfort or cost concerns.
  • Support input into and execution of Proto, GTM1, GTM2, Sales samples, Tech 1 samples and initial production confirmation samples to ensure a smooth transition from development into commercialization
  • Provide guidance and input on alternatives in constructions, materials, costing, duties, etc.
  • Provide clear & concise communication to all relevant stake-holders
  • Facilitate communication & collaboration with key stakeholders both within and outside of BUs to drive decision-making and problem solving
  • Develop and maintain productive, effective and professional relationships with peers, superiors, factories, and others. Always represent the company in a positive and supportive manner
  • Work closely with teams and colleagues whether BU-based (e.g., development, planning, costing, etc.) or centrally-based (e.g., SCOE, PST, Quality, etc.)

  • Support problem-solving, identifying issues and presenting solution options to team-mates
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement of commercialization processes during regular reviews across assigned factories and support reviews across BUs
  • Join and actively contribute to periodic review of quality issues, defecive returns to learn ways to continuously improve commercialization and production processes
  • Contribute to the generation of new ideas. Proactively seek, evaluate and monitor new technologies relevant to the industry..

Training

  • Share knowledge and experiences with newer team members and seek out mentorship and coaching for professional growth
  • Develop abilities to use the "tools of the trade" (e.g., calipers, hardness gauge, tape measure, profile gauge, Brannock device, etc.) and analyze technical drawings, lab tests, patterns, lasts, and components, etc. to identify and resolve issues in commercialization.
  • Proactively seek, evaluate and understand new technologies, materials, products and manufacturing methodologies relevant to the industry
  • Attend training classes, workshops, conferences and summits to acquire and enhance relevant technical skills
  • Travel to headquarters (or other non-factory locations) on an as needed basis

Education/Certifications:

  • College degree or relevant work experience

Work Experience:

  • 3-5 years experience in the footwear industry
  • Working knowledge of product development, commercialization, and manufacturing processes
  • Working knowledge of materials and product constructions
