Senior Lean/IE Manager

IE Strategy & Leadership:

• Define and implement the overall IE strategy aligned with company objectives and business priorities.
• Lead, coach, and develop the IE team, including hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and succession planning.
• Establish IE policies, procedures, and best practices for time study, standard work, and productivity improvement.
• Promote a data-driven, continuous improvement culture across the organization, promoting collaboration between IE and cross-functional teams.

Standard Time & Methods Management

• Oversee the development, verification, and maintenance of standard times for all key styles and operations.
• Ensure consistent application of work measurement methods (e.g., stopwatch, MOST/MTM, predetermined time systems).
• Monitor and analyze variances between standard and actual performance; drive root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Continuously refine methods and working tools to improve data reliability and timeliness.
• Provide training and coaching to factory IE teams and Deckers relevant departments to leverage the IE methodology in their work.
• Establish standards for data collection, verification, analysis to support data consistency and transparency.

Product Development & Commercialization Support

• Represent IE in teardown meetings and tech meetings and cross-functional
• discussions to provide expert input on manufacturability, efficiency, and cost.
• Thoroughly study and understand processes to ensure accurate product family classification, enabling better capacity planning and scheduling.
• Ensure IE involvement in pivot facilities, trial runs, and ramp-up planning.
• Provide IE input for cost estimation, quotations, and investment decisions.

Data Analysis, Reporting

• Ensure accuracy, integrity, and availability of IE data (standard times, productivity reports).
• Develop and maintain dashboards and regular reports for management decisionmaking.
• Define and track the KPI for IE project and IE capability, ensuring clear measurement.

Team Training & Development

• Coach and mentor Deckers teams on IE methodology.
• Guide team members in conducting effective and efficient time and motion studies.
• Enhance team members' project management and problem-solving capabilities through training and practice.
• Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in IE through continuous learning (e.g., training courses, conferences, summits).
• Collaborate with the leadership team on long-term planning and brand direction to ensure IE strategies remain aligned with industry developments and company goals.

Education/Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Related certificate IE certification preferred (e.g. Six Sigma Belts, Industrial Engineering Professional etc.)

Work Experience:

• 8–10+ years of industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Proven experience in time study, standard time setting, and methods engineering in manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of industrial engineering principles, techniques, and tools.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt/Black Belt preferred).
• Experience working in cross-region and multiple cultures.
• Knowledge of footwear/apparel business experience is a plus.
